Default 07 6.7 cummins wont start

I was driving down road and the engine just shut off without warning, coasted into parking lot and the engine will not turn over at all just a clicking sound from a box located on drivers side fender under hood by the hood hinge. Lights come on windows go up and down dash lights come on. What could this be? I checked fuses, all were good, cleaned the battery cables, I jumped across the starter and it spun but did not engage the flywheel, my mechanic is puzzled as I am. Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

My buddy had this issue a few months ago. Turned out to be his key fob went bad.

Scan for codes.
Seems odd that if you jump the starter it just spins instead of the bendix engaging.

I had to go back to the dealership, new tpim and ecm, 4100 dollars later it runs again, now I have to buy a new programmer cause I lost my program due to a new ecm 600 more. I'm a ford guy, I can't wait till ford comes out with a great truck again like the 7.3 engines. oh well its dodge for now

Jesus.

Sometimes I miss my 08.

And then stuff like this.

But I can't tell you how many times I've heard of customers dropping thousands and thousands over at Ford. New motor, $16k. New fuel system, $9500 after a steep discount.
