Default frame to gear reinforcmen (bracket)

W250 1993 Cummings
the bracket between power steering pump and frame ( pump bolts to bracket and through bracket to frame) cracked.
I'm trying to find new one, alternatively have it welded.
Any advise, experience shared greatly appreciated. - thanks.

Take the steering gear off, clean things REALLY well, and weld it up, in place. (so the bolt holes are still in the right spot.)

No, don't weld it to the frame, weld up the cracks, or replace the bracket.

Maybe a steering box brace, to prevent it from happening again?
