burning smell

Default burning smell

my car gives off a burning smell after i turn it off. i just did an oil change bout three weeks ago. im not sure if it has anything to do with it but i never had this problem till last week.

could be a new leak developed or you didn't tighten things up properly or the filter gaskets leaking... no offence you'll need topop the hood and LOOK around ...

I have the same problem. I have a hidden oil leak somwhere around teh mail seal of pan gasket... I am ignoring it for now until i build up courage to fix the leak

my 97 makes this smell also. sometimes in the caban if the heat is on and the air flow is set to outside air. i have the 2.5 and my leak is from the front valve cover gasket. it drips on the exhaust headers. not much, but enough to smell bad, maybe a drop a drive. it makes a small trail of smoke, like blowing out a candle. drive it for about 20mins and pop the hood and smell/look around, thats how i found mine. easy to fix, just replace the gasket. about $20 on ebay shipped.
