Default Got a new 1999 Dodge Avenger..

And was wondering about some cool things I could do to it that would make it look and sound better. There's slight vibration in the car which could be due to my tires and am working on getting new ones. My exhuast is a little lose, it vibrates something terrible going any speed over 60. The real question I have is how would I go about setting up an aftermarket amp and subs in it? I have the two stock speakers in the back and put 2 6 1/2 pioneer speakers in the front. System sounds amazing. The infinity stock amp is still in the back and runs wonderfully. I'm just looking for a little more power in my music so any information would be appreciated. As for the other stuff, any information on modifying the outside looks of the car and performance would be great. Thanks!

Hi,

A pic of your car would definitely help us to guide you on external looks of your car. Regarding sound system , i would suggest you to get high power amp but in order to digest such amp your speaker be potential enough or else the sound get tarred with no quality.

Regards,
Razor

I'll get a picture up as soon as I can. Having some issues finding time to go out and snap a couple pics as sad as that sounds. As for setting up a good system. I'd really like some detailed info on what I could do for it.

unfortunately te infinty amp is SIX channels there is no direct replacement for that ...
some people rewire te door/deck to run off a larger amp and use the front channels of the radio to power the tweets

I also have a 99 avenger and i put in an aftermarket stereo new speakers all the way around, and put new subs and amp in it..... for the amp i put it in my trunk... i ran the power wire through the fender and ran down along the door into the trunk....for the speakers i just used the stock wire that the old speakers were hooked up to... and i picked up a wire harness for the stereo

Running amp wires in your fender and door jam is not recommended. This is a good way to create shorts and possibly car fires. Plus, it looks very unprofessional.

If you are wanting to leave the infinity system intact, add a line out converter to the rear speakers and then add your amplifiers RCA cables to that.

Run your power wire through the firewall. Many dodges have a clutch plate in the firewall held by two 10mm nuts on the inside (as long as yours is not a manual). Remove those and pull the clutch plate out through the engine compartment. Drill a hole in it, put a grommet in the hole and run your power cable through that. Be careful where you ground your amp.

Remember your gas tank is back by your trunk. Look twice, drill once.

You can add your remote wire to either the back of the radio at the accessory wire, which is red with white stripe if memory serves me right, or you can go the fuse box. Make sure to add a fuse holder (at the source you get power from) to the remote wire with a 5 amp fuse. This will protect the wire, your amp, and your cars electrical system.
