For about several months I have had reverse gear change drastically on me...it used to simply ' float ' or glide very easily for short distances, just a tap of the foot on the pedal. More recently, it has required that I put the gas down for every inch of ground in reverse and I've had to be careful to not hit anything behind me. I checked the fluid levels and nothing, well a little, the fluid is also only half way thru its current life.

Here's the strange part, within the last week it has gone back to being smooth.

Clutch plates sticking to each other and then becoming unstuck ? Those plates slowly wearing out ?

Any thoughts ?
