Default Bad smell in cabin when passing or merging

I'm not sure if this is normal for these cars but when I pass a vehicle or merge onto the freeway my car reaks inside. I know it's my exhaust because it smells like old catalytic converter burn. None of my previous cars had this and my car has a little over 1000 Miles. It's a horrible smell and if it's normal on 4cyl cars or Calibers I think I may be selling her.
Please let me know if it's an issue or norm.

Thanks!

That's the first time I've ever heard of such a thing with ANY car.

The bad smell I presume is that of rotten eggs or hydrogen sulfide,
definitely not the norm for any car I have owned including the
Caliber.
I wouldthink your right in suspecting the exhuast and the catalytic
converter in particular but with only 100 miles on it this is what
a warranty is all about, get it back to dealer as it sounds as it could
be anleak and that's justnot healthy.

Thanks guys!
I will call my dealership tomorrow! I was wondering if you know how I can find out if my car had the TSB fix for acceleration. I purchased the car new about three weeks ago. I can't tell if it's slow. My last vehicles were a Mustang GT and a Dodge Ram 1500 (HEMI).
The Caliber I have is a fwd R/T with the CVT.

Thanks again!

That's ok,I was wondering is it a 07 or 08?
If it is an 07 check the build date on the drivers door sticker and if it is before
May 1,07 there is a possibility the ECM/TCM flash has not been done.
That would be TSB#18-031-07 for reference.
The other thing that your post indicated FWD/CVT/RT, I thought
all RTs with CVT were AWD and that all RTs FWD were 5 spd.

My Caliber is a 2007. I will look into the TSB thing.
Yeah it's FWD with the CVT. I wanted a 5spd but there wasn't a single 2007 R/T 5sp in my state. (Atleast that's what I was told)
I think the CVT is an option on all models and trim packages.Well atleast in the states. (I could be wrong though)

My wife had a similiar complaint when ours was new. It eventually went away though.
