Cargo space behind back seats in the Caliber.

Hello, fellow Caliber owners!
Well, I am still awaiting my Caliber R/T: (in- in about 2 weeks). I was looking for some feedback from current Caliber owners on whether or not you think the cargo area behind the back seat has adequate space enough for say: (loading up a week's groceries)? I'm currently driving my deceased uncles '96 Buick Regal and am used to a trunk: (good sized). I haven't had a hatch car since my last new car: ('87 Dodge Omni). Any insights fom you folks out there would be appreciated!
Thanks! CalMAN57
No problem with the groceries. Wheelchair is a tough fit. Walkers just barely fit in the back. Only thing I don't like about the hatch on the Caliber is when you get out of the car it is always locked which is a pain.

Just another tip for you when you get your Caliber, buy a cargo net or bungee cords
to secure loose items even groceries to stop them from moving around possibly
cargo boxes would be a better way.
The 08 Calibers have a moulded carpet now on the sparetire cover so possibly
things won't slide around as the did on the 07s.

I believe I'm getting the vinyl covering on the cargo floor. I got the leather package. Do you think the Dodge dealership I'm getting my Caliber from might have a cargo net set-up in their parts department? Thanks so much for the suggestions!

The cargo net has been and is used in a number of Chrysler vehicles
for a number of years so it could be availiable as a part,I have one left
over from my 94 Cirrus.
Chrysler also sells collapsible nylon tote boxes availiable, the best thing is
go to Dodge.com or Dodge.ca and look at their accessories.

I'll check those two sites out. All you guys out there are really helpful with advise and knowledge sharing!!
Weeks worth of groceries is dependant upon how many people you're shopping for (i.e.how big your family is). I know for a single person or up to a family of three or four and your grocery run consists of a not much more than a shopping cart of bagged groceries, it's plenty. If you have a large family with lots of tax deductions and fill up multiple shopping carts every time you go grocery shopping, you'd probably need another vehicle with more cargo space.
Dodge doesn't sell a cargo net specifically for the Caliber to my knowledge.
