Caliber Rear Brakes Squeal

Caliber Rear Brakes Squeal
Caliber is 12 months old and 20000 miles.
Every morning when backing out, the brakes squeal. They don't squeal going forwards, only in reverse.
Dealership machined the rotors (not what I wanted)and glazed the pads (not familiar with that one), and it still occurs. Lady in service told me that all new Dodge's do that - and I should have bought something else - how's that for service help?! [:@]
Should I push for replacements, or just head over to Tuffy/Midas/etc. All the mileage is highway, so if it truly needs brakes and rotors and 20000 miles I am pretty disgusted.
Thanks for any help and advice!

RE: Caliber Rear Brakes Squeal
Ingenir I can tell by your signature that you are Mopar oriented.
Do any of your other vehicles squeal?
I would find another dealer if that's the attitude of one employee
how deep does it run in the dealership.
I have not had your particular problem with my Caliber but I did
have a slight squeak in the rear brakes when they were applied
at low speeds and my dealer said it was lack of lubrication on
the brake assy from factory,it was taken care of under warranty.

I think the attitude is just that employee, and have a family friend who is in Sales, but the employee is the Service Manager! So that makes it an upwards battle regarding rotor replacement. []
They reportedly claim they took the brakes apart and did not find anything. What seems wierd is that the brakes only squeal backing up at any speed when applied, not forward. Once warmed and used, they stop squealing. Oxidation on the rotors? Bad pads? Other ideas?
Can't wait for the quality assurance fellow to call me today......

Because most of the braking is done while going forward, the break pads material and rotors surface wear off in such a way that when going the other way around it generates more friction and hence, the noise.
I have seen that happen with other cars in the past, not just Chrysler products! Using a different brand of pads may help.
