Heads up on a potential Fuel Gage Problem
I found out this minor problem while in San Francisco while parked uphill during a cold evening.
I had a full tank leaving San Mateo and it is only about 30 or less miles to SF. When I got in the car to return the gage said 3/4 full. It was like in the cold weather the indicator in the tank froze or locked up. As I continued to drive it seemed the gage got back to normal.
I was wondering if anyone back East in the cold was experiencing problems with their gas gages ??

Yes, when you park the car faced uphill, the gas gauge reads low when you start it back up, and vice-versa. Ours is always parked facing downhill and reads high when we start out, then it goes down to where it should be after we drive a couple miles on leveler roads. I've never owned a car that didn't do this, and actually had one that read the other way around, low facing downhill and high facing uphill. And I imagine that those steep hills than San Francisco is known for would exagerate this behavior, so you have nothing to worry about.
Yes, I live in Ohio and the fuel gauge does this. It take periodic readings and sets for a bit at that point. I was told it is normal. At first I was POed about it, but it does correct itself, so... I hope this puts your mind to rest.
