Reliable?
So today, I was over at our Dodge dealership for a job. Then I saw my buddy which works there. He knows i'm in a need of a new vehicle cause my truck is getting worst and worst on fuel. More km's I put on it, the faster it burns fuel. So he showed me a Caliber that they just recived off the truck. Like I mean just got. Not even half hour got. So he gives me the keys too it. We went for a drive. It was nice. I found it to be a better drive then my 03 SX R/T I had. So my question is, how reliable are these cars? I don't wanna constant break downs like my truck had. It was a R/T model. Fully loaded with 5 speed.
So Grease,
Which model did you drive and which one do you want to buy ? I only have 5K miles on mine and so far no problems. I was concerned also about reliablity. I have seen posts from people that have 60K miles and no problems. Then again some people have problems but usually under warrenty...

Hi TheGreatMonkey I ave been driving Caliber for 1-1/2 yrs now and have
26,000 kilometers on it now.
I have only been to the dealer for oil changes and a software update that
I requested,I constantly meet or exceed the EPA mpg estimate and enjoy
driving the car overall.
Lots of support in the various forums on the net with the nitpicky things
you run into with any car i.e. Tech Service Bulletins,Recalls etc.

Michael Kiresh's new reliability data indicates that the Caliber is as reliable as the Ford Fusion, which is good. Consumer Reports, which has been badmouthing the Calibersince its beginning, now must admit by its own data, that the Caliber is a fine reliable car. With a lifetime drive-train warranty plus a guaranteed $3 per gallon of gas for 36,000 miles, its time to buy a Caliber. My ownCaliber with careful featherfootingoverall averages 31.4 MPG, 32.7MPGon trips over 4000 foot mountain passes, &has gotten 35.6 MPG on a flat highway several times.
I've had my Caliber SE for 1 1/2 years now with 34000km. I have had no problems with it at all. Of course after 1 1/2 years it can still be too soon to tell. Any major problems with any vehicle that I have had don't occur until the warranty has ended, which is why I bought the extended warranty 7 years/160000km.
