Default Caliber Beverage Cooler

Does anyone actually use their built-in glove compartment beverage cooler? If so, what has been your experience? Please share!!!

I've used mine quite a few times. My experiences have been well worth it!

I have used mine sparingly-works if you put a COLD beverage
in it to start with, will help keep it cool in the summer as long
as the A/C is on to help.Make sure you close the vent in the top
of the chill zone in winter as it takes the air off stream before it
hits the heater core and it can get very cold.

Thanks for the tip... though we had more cold days here in Orlando this winter than I would have liked, we don't have to worry about it getting too cold. In your neck of the woods though, I can see where your coming from ... made my way across the 401 in winter more times than I care to remember!

I find that for the most part, my temp gauge IN the chill zone averages 65-68 degrees F. You must start with a cold drink, otherwise you'll have to make a cross-country trip before it gets cool. Most folks like a very cold drink, for which, the chill zone isn't really the best thing. It helps in the summer, but I find that it's mainly useful for trips. I also think that the vents should be bigger, or at least dedicated just to the chill zone, mainly because the passenger compartment gets a bit too cold before the drinks do, even with all the vents closed to allow all the air to go to the cooler. Still, a novel idea.

It gets cold outside air in the winter to keep them cold even with the heat on.
It won't keep them @ 33 degrees, but much cooler than in the console.
