Default Transmission help

2007 DODGE CALIBER

Car has about a 2 second delay when shifted into drive and maybe 1-2 second delay when shifted into reverse. Runs good after that.

Thanks for any inputs.

Do you have a CVT transmission? If you do this is normal function, as the pulleys have to go from reversy to forward, and the clutchs need to engage.

If you have the CVT2 transmission, it probably wouldn't hurt to run it by the dealer and have them check the fluid level. (Must be done with a scan tool, no dipstick).
My CVT2 in our 09 doesn't have this delay.

I agree with lxman1 as my '07 2.0L/CVT has never done what
yours is doing.
