doors wont unlock from the inside

My dad has a 09 caliber, and for some reason the door unlock button on the inside is not working. does any one know what could have caused this and how to fix it thanks.

Perhaps water has gotten into the switch and corroded the contacts?? Does the lock side of the switch work?
