Default Headlight Issue

My son's Caliber has a head light out. He replaced the fuse and the bulb with no effect. If anyone knows the best way to trouble shoot from this point on I would appreciate any help.

thank you,
jim

My son told me last night that the high beam works, but not the low beam, and that's only on one of the headlights.

Again, I appreciate any help you may be able to provide.

thanks,
jim

Try reseting the computer by disconnecting the battery . Maybe the computer still sensing that the bulb is still burned and does not recognizes the new one!! Try that!!! Good Luck!!!

Yes, The computer seems to control everything on these cars, even the radio. If that doesn't work, it could be either the light socket is bad (check for voltage with a test light or meter) or possibly the multi-function switch in the column. You might also take the working bulb and move it to the other side just to verify that the new one is not bad as well.

Oh, by the way, welcome to the forum!!

on the Caliber, sometimes you have to reset the Tipm module(Fuse block) b4 the head light starts working again. Try disconnect the battery, or Pull the IDO fuse for a minute.
