Default Replace spark plugs at 30K?

Changed oil in the wifes 08 Caliber the other day and was flipp'n through the owners manaul and read that plugs should be changed at 30K. Well crap, I missed that one! Almost 60K now.

To be fair, we bought it with 38K so one of two things happened before we bought it. They where changed out or they where not.

I take it they are the el-cheapo Champion plugs just like our trucks right? At least they look easy to change......and only need four of them!!

Might be, I'm still 10K away from pulling the plugs on our 09. I like NGK's. I run the V-Power copper plugs in my Ram and Mustang.

It uses an NGK, ZFR5F11. I pulled NGKs from my truck at about 50k and they were worn down pretty good. I don't reccomend using anything other that the stock OE plug.

Hi,
I am the tech manager at Autolite. Yes, Chrysler cheaped out and put copper core plugs in your car. You will see a significant improvemnt in fuel economy and performance by using Autolite or Brand XXX iridium alloy fine wire spark plugs. And, contrary to what other posters say, your computer is not tuned to the plug, it is calibrated to the plug heat range. Watch this video for details. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U90PMvy3PAY Iridium fine wire plugs will last 100k in your car.
