I have an 08 caliber and my service engine lights goes on and off, I had it diagnostically tested and the code came back for a Evaporative Emission Leak (very small) can someone tell me what damage this may cause by the light going on and off and what damage could it do if I dont get it fixed right away? Please Help!!!

Welcome to the forum. It could be something as simple as a leaky gas cap seal or a bad hose on the evap canister.

It goes ON and Off? that means ur car is failing the evap monitor once in a while.
My guess would be a bad ESIM switch on on charcoal canister. very cheap and takes 15 mins to change, if u feel comfortable working under the car.
Tho, it could be a leaking hose or gas cap, further test will need to be performed.

If it is not fix, u will not pass emssion, and become a source of our air pollution and global warming!

other than that, ur car will run fine as usual. This is just a emission thing u can neglect for now.

however, if there is something else wrong with ur car, there is only 1 check engine light on the dash, and u will not notice.
