Default Opinions on Alternator Brands for Caliber

Alright, my 2008 Dodge Caliber needs a new alternator. Im looking right now at the Duralast Import Alternator from Autozone, because they have the best price so far. Does anone have experience with them? What about Advance Auto Parts' Worldwide Alternator? There's a few others out there like "Quality-Built Alterntors and Mitsubishi ones as well. Any feedback would be great!

I have never had an AutoZone alternator fail. I have installed tons of them. Are you sure it's not just a bad pulley? They have a one way clutch pulley that can get noisy and fail. Is yours charging or just noisy?

its really noisy, my vehicle seems to be running fine though. My lights, dashboard, radio are all fine. Nothing that would seem to be connected to the battery is going out. Its just really noisy. And there seems to be a bearing loose somewhere as well because there is also this loud metallic rattling noise on top of the alternator or the pulley making noise.

So....would it be more effective to get just the pulley? I mean you would still have to remove the alternator anyway to replce the pulley right?

I'm sure you will have to pull the alternator to replace the pulley.
