Default ignition module on a 08

Im trying to help out a friend who has an 08 caliber, she said she jumped in the car this morning it fired up and she went to work....... break time comes she goes out to fire it up and the car starts...... then quits, cannot be started again. Has it towed off to a show where they tell her it is the ignition module and itll be $350 to replace/repair.....

Is this something that can just "go out" I mean no signs before the matter???

And..... i know someone will ask what version caliber it is, I cannot answer..... Im not sure if its a SE,RT,SRT or a SXT..... my money is on the lower level model(s)

Any advice would be appreciated.

Please and thank you

Mike,

Does it have keyless entry? If so, did she try another key? It certainly could be that the WIN module needs to be replaced due to failure.

I agree, I always try a back-up key first.
