2009 Caliber Starting issues
Hi
New here, first post.
I have a 2009 Caliber, 3 X over the past month I have had to have it towed. The problem from what I see is common in 2007 or 2008 models. Basically the engine won't start but everything else works. It has happened 3 times:
1. Towed to mechanic I deal with. No problem with alternator or starter. Battery was fine (i bought a new one 2 years ago). They noticed a wire from the battery to starter (I think) was slightly corroded. They sanded the end of the wire and voila!
2. Towed to mechanic. It started for them after sitting for about 12 hrs. They could not find anything wrong.
3. The roadside service people came out. Tried to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, no luck. No luck with battery boost, lock/unlock doors using key to try to reset it.
Its with the local garage right now but I suspect I will be going to the dealer soon.
Really no other issues with car aside from that.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
James
