Found this site and am hopeful we can get answers. We bought a 08 Dodge Caliber to rebuild. Car is up and running but the ac compressor kicks on for a few seconds and then kicks off. If you shut the car off and restart the compressor will kick on then off again ! It is full of freon so that's not the issue. Does anyone have a thought on this?

 

Put a set of gauges on it and check the pressures,

 

Did that yesterday at a shop was able to get or to take freon but it would not stay on

 

Shop give any recommendations?

 

The PCM is not satisfied with something. Could be the high pressure switch. Are the radiator fans coming on when you engage the a/c button?
