2007 Dodge Caliber with codes p0746 and p0777
Last night my 2007 caliber R/T broke down. I was on the interstate when it started making a clinking noise, followed by whining. Shortly after that the RPM's began going wild and my car wouldn't accelerate. I slowed down and pulled over and then tried to put it in drive, to which it whined and wouldn't move. It then went in reverse perfectly fine with no noise. It's throwing two codes- p0746 and p0777 which appear to be two solenoids and a possible slipped belt? I'm assuming I'll need a new transmission? Or am I wrong and this is a problem that's a little less expensive to fix?
