I had posted this question in the new member area and it looked like it got moved to the 2008-Current Avenger section but I am also interested in the Caliber so I am asking for advice/opinions regarding the 2007-2009 Calibers.

What are some common issues I should be aware of, especially mechanical. How are they on gas, especially a 4cyl with automatic transmission (I guess it is a CVT transmission). How reliable are they as I will be racking up miles on them as I commute around 80-90 miles a day. Thanks for any help.

 

Our 09 SXT with 44K miles has been trouble free. 2.0 CVT2. The most common issues I have seen are front suspension components, especially if you have crappy roads like we do here in Kentucky. Ours was rated 20city/26hwy, but when i was driving 80 miles a day round trip to work, it actually got 35.7mph mostly hwy. It seems that the 2007 seems to have more issues. First year teething I suppose.
