Default Rear wiper self parking.

Hi, I wonder if anyone can throw some help my way. I have an 06 Caliber 1.8 petrol. The other day I used the rear wiper and it didn't go back to the park position. When left to run it is doesn't do a complete wipe and at times it barely moves. When used in the washer/wipe it is ok, except for the self parking. Anyone got ideas as to what this is and how to fix. If I were to disconnect the battery and touch the leads together to reset the TIPM would that work? Thanks for any help.

I would remove the wiper arm and see if it is stripped.

If the splines are not stripped, I would say that the motor/circuit board are bad.
