The Caliber production will be split up as follows:

R/T AWD 20%

SXT 55%

SE 25%

The R/T will have an optional leather interior with color keys from the extirior, optional heated seats, standard cruise control, standard alarm, standard fog lamps, standard leather wrapped steering wheel, standard 6spd Autostick tranny CVT2, 18" wheels, and a 2.4L DOHC eingine with 173 hp @ 6000 rpm and 164 lb-ft of torque @ 4400 rpm. It will have a sport tuned suspension.

The SXT will have a standard 1.8L DOHC engine with 143 hp @ 6400 rpm and 124 lb-ft of torque @ 5,500 rpm mated to a 5spd manual, or an optional 2.0L DOHC with 150 hp @ 6400 rpm and 135 lb-ft of torque @ 5200 rpm mated to a CVT2. 17" wheels. Power everything. Optional heated seats (not leather). Cruise control becomes optional on SXT. There is a premium sound system of some kind that will be available. 6 disk CD changers with MP3 capability will be optional, but it's not yet clear to me if they will be in dash units or not. There will be a sunroof option.

The SE will have the same engine and tranny options as the SXT with fewer interior goodies. Air conditioning moves to the optional list on the SE. Many of the power options will still be available if you want them. The premium sound system will be available on this model.

Unfortunately, it looks as if Dodge has seen fit to deprive us of a manual trans with the larger engine options. The only thing that comes close right now is the stepped CVT2 in the R/T, which has 6 "speeds" so called. The CVT2 may prove fun to drive however, as it allows the engine to stay in it's power band.

The diesel option that has been rumored remains to be seen, at least in the US.

No production info on the SRT version as of yet. I'll let you know as soon as I know.

Previously, we had been under the impression that the AWD would only make it to production on the R/T model. This no longer seems to be the case. It appears that Dodge will offer AWD as an option on any of the Caliber's trim levels.

You can now build and price a Caliber at http://www.dodge.com/caliber/index.html However, the build and price in place now may not be completely accurate by the time the cars hit showroom floors. Some things are likely to change.

I'll post more specific info as I get it. I will probably just edit this original post so check back. I hope this info proves usefull.

Is a manual at least an option on the larger engines? Stepped CVTs defeat the purpose IMO and I'd really like a 3-pedal car with good power next time around.

I agree, but as far as I have seen so far, there won't be an option for completely manual trans with the larger engines. If I get some ifo that says otherwise, I'll let ya know.

I'm aware of that article, but it does not have exact factory specs and contains a lot of speculation. I wanted to make a post with known exact details.
