Default Ok..RANT here...you've been warned!!!

So I was talking to my dealer that I ordered my Dodge Caliber SXT Sport from and he said he wasn't allotted any Calibers this month, meaning that they won't even take the order in until the dealer is allotted to order some more Calibers!!! This kinda pisses me off! He doesn't even know when he'll be allotted to order any more Calibers. So I had my dad call around while I was at work to see if any dealer around here was allotted to order any Calibers, and none with-in a 50 mile radius is allotted to order any Dodge Calibers. This pisses me off even more! What's even better, nobody in the dealers I've talked to have any Calibers on the lot. So they don't have any on the lot, and they can't order any. Like WTF!!! I have a half a notion to write a friendly/nasty letter to the Dodge regional director of Chrysler in Syracuse, NY and tell him how f%&$# up Chrysler is handling the orders. The dealers I've talked to aren't very happy about how Chrysler is doing this allocation crap. Dealers around here are starting losing sales because of it. IMO, this isn't good business practice at all. Maybe I'm just impatient, but I shouldn't have to wait 4+ months to get a friggin' car. Ok, so I'm a cry baby..... End of rant....

I do understand other people's frustration when they haven't gotten theirs in yet.

My dealer did say that my car is in status BX (Passed edit available for schedule), what ever that means.

This is exactly why we decided to play dealer lot roulette.....
I was going to order one, then was warned not to by a local dealership. And what we ended up with was far more than we would have gotten if we did order. I'm sorry to hear about you guys that ordered these months ago....makes me feel a little guilty.

Sorry about the trouble you are having. Sounds like Chrysler isn't really handling this well. However, our dealerships here, all have Calibers on the lot... I guess it's just that region...

Well we tried to play dealer roulette, but lost this month. If the dealer I ordered the Caliber from STILL doesn't have any allocation to order any, I'll start all over again. He did say that he has a black R/T on its way, but I don't think it has some of the features I want in it and I don't really want to spend that much money. Its Black with red inserts. He's already had over 20 people ask about it before its even there.

I still think its kinda stupid the way they're doing it. In a way, they're say "we don't want your business", or "we'll think about letting you order a car later on". They gotta build the damn car anyways, so why not put ALL cars in a queue and when it gets built, it gets built instead of playing this game where no, you can't order any this month, tell your customers to **** off.

Yes this does suck...you have to see it from chryslers viewpoint....Most of the dealers was promising plenty of prowlers and pt cruisers and selling what they could not deliver...DC is still going thru the courts thinning these law suits out to this day...So they started this with the 300C and carried it to the crossfire and the caliber as well, and probaly any high media demand car they might make in the future. It is a pain i know...but it protects you from the angish of having payed for something with your hard earned money and not being able to get what you paid for till the next year model run. Not sure of the area you live in so you may have to go beyond 50 miles to find one.

these cars are out before there time in a limited quantity...most dealers can do a dealer trade to get them...the dealers who sold alot of neons the prior year and also were 5star dealers got the most calibers first...

the caliber being a2007 model year car being brought out in march 2006 is like what they did with the neon in 1994...the 1995 neon was out in jan 1994...give the public a taste then flood the market for ten more years.. i just hope the cvt trans will hold up...not very many serviceable parts are going to be released.. a new box will be installed if anything more than a few seals ,filters and hardware at this time..also watch for the special trans fluid..cannot use any other fluid other than the cvt+4 fluid..nissan cvt fluid can also be used.there is no dipstick in the trans, so it should be serviced by the dealer only(unless you can get the dipstick from otc tools...part number 9336...

Yeah, the dealer I went through said that all allocations are based off from how many Neon's you sold last quarter, not necessarily how large the dealer is. I was looking around on the website and some of the small dealerships have 2 or 3 Calibers, and the dealers in the city how 0 Calibers in stock. Of course, nobody had anything like I wanted, not even close! My dealer had 3 or 4 Neon SXT's and they basically gave them all away because they didn't think they'd ever sell them. This was before gas hit $3.00/gal. And they are a five-star dealer. They got 3 allocations in April which were filled immediately. And they got no allocation in May, which I ordered my car on May 1st. So, hopefully they'll be awarded an allocation or 2 in the month of June. I'm really hoping they do because I'm sick of waiting. I've been saving, saving, saving since just after Christmas for one of these. Some of the other dealers I talked to said that the only way they can get an allocation for ONE Caliber is if they take a Durango or Jeep Commander (something they know they'll never sell). Hopefully, if it comes to it, my dealer will so that if needed.
