Default sliding center console

Before I got my Caliber, I took a test drive and noticed that the center console armrest moved freely. I thought that Dodge had really gotten this all wrong. BUT, after owning one for almost a month and a half, I realize that they really got it right! I love the fact that I can slap this thing with my arm, or my elbow, and move it anywhere I want. When I want it to stay put, it stays put. I've read a lot of complaints about this on other forums and reviews (mostly from people who don't own one yet, or who are doing a test drive for some crapola crap car mag), but as far as I'm concerened, it's one of the little things that I love about the Caliber. And little things can make a car a whole lot of fun. It's even better when you put some padding on it!

Hey Fitz,

Glad to hear you like it, I was worried since most people are saying that D.C. should fix it.

Good to hear good things about the Caliber.

Later

It does store the atlas very nicely, under the tray, the water bottles still fit. The only thing I wish it had was pockets on the back of the front seats. I am trying to find something to work, I may end up making my own.

Hey mahal- My console armrest doesn't slide around unless I push or pull on it. So if I've got it in position, and I just rest my arm on it, it doesn't move. I do have a tendency to slap it back when I'm passing someone on a two lane highway doing 65, and then when i've settled down, I'll slide it back forward with my elbow. It doesn't slide around on its own, and I damn sure wouldn't oil the rails, but I kind of like playing around with it. Hope that explanation is sufficient.

Thanks, and good luck- Fitz
