Okay, I know this is a common issue, but I haven't been able to find much information about this. I called the dealer we purchased the vehicle from (Caliber R/T) and talked to their service department, but they guy had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. Does anyone have any specific information about what is wrong with the slider so I can describe it to the yahoos over the phone without having to drive to the dealership and show them? I'm close to just taking the thing off myself and installing some felt pads to add friction to the "mechanism".
I have found out that the "guys" at the dealership are trying their best to avoid questions about problems with the Calibers. Its because they don't drive one on the regular like you and I, plus the big wigs don't have the solutions to some of the complaints they're receiving. I'm calling another dealership tomorrow to see if someone can help me out. Maybe its just the dealership i'm dealing with.[:'(]
I was at the dealer's today and asked the same question. They looked it up on the computer and DCX has a fix that involves adding a foam tape to the slider.
