you can do a paint job after you have the car.
For me, a Piano Black interior trims/insert were perfect, or a brushed aluminium.
but the "blue or red"... well.. not for me.
cheers, and welcome aboard.

I didn't like the inserts at first either. After waiting and waiting for a Caliber, my dealership got one in that had everything I wanted except for the color inserts. So, I ended up with a white RT with red inserts and it turns out that I love it. The red RT with the red inserts, not so much. I just added the mopar window vents (the white dodge emblem looks great with my white car!), door guards and the sunroof vent thing and it really looks good! I get lots of compliments. By the way, I love the Caliber in black. My last car was black so I had to go with something different. I think it would look great with either the red inserts or the satin finish.
I have the red SXT sport with the red inserts and I love it. I thought it would be too much at first also, but the red inserts and dash overlay are pretty much kept in check with the light/dark gray dash and doors. I've gotten nothing but compliments on it. I think the red really sets off the interior and it looks great with the rest of the grey.
I'm going to post some pics in the next couple of days, I've been putting it off because every time I wash it to snap some it rains. This week will be clear though, so I'll get some up tomorrow.

I called the dealership today to confirm that I want the red paintwork and red inserts - Now I'm really excited about it.
It's going to be a long 6 week wait for delivery though!! Thanks for everyone's input
Obviously, I'll post some photos when it arrives

Black is a horrible color for a car if you want to keep it clean. However, there's nothing that looks better than a expertly cleaned black vehicle. They say only 1% of show worthy cars are black for these reasons. The upkeep is there, but the rewards are greater than the time you'll spend cleaning. Plus, the Caliber is menacing in black with some dark wheels and slammed to the ground.
Sorry to say this, but you'll probably be waiting hell of a lot longer than six weeks to get your Caliber. I ordered my Caliber 5/1, thats almost 12 weeks ago. My dealer gave me a delivery date of six to eight weeks, which I thought is a reasonable amount of time to build a car and have it ready at my dealership for pick up. More than likely, your dealer is feeding you the same line they feed me! All I'm saying is don't get your hopes up that you'll have your car by then. As for now, stand in line, and wait your turn! By the way, its a very looooong line, hope you have good walking shoes on!!

^12 weeks!!! To be honest, I've taken 6 weeks with a pinch of salt, I'd imagine that mine will arrive in September with a bit of luck
So have they given you a timescale as to when it supposed to arrive?

No timescale. My Caliber has been in the BX status going on two weeks now, with no schedule date as to when it will be built. I'm hoping I'll have the car by September as well. Who knows, the dealers, DcX, they all don't know their own a$$ from a hole in the ground! So, all I can do is just wait...[&o]
I've been to look at the latest Caliber that has arrived at my local dealership and it's an orange SXT however the front grille is body coloured and not chrome? I thought the SXT models came with chrome grilles as standard or am I wrong?
