2000 mi report - ITS ALL GOOD BABY!
I'm usually really picky, but I totally love my blue SXT with CVT. I'm 6'2' and long legged and fit great - especially the for the LEFT leg - compared to other small cars, the caliber doesn't have the wheel well in the way as much. The armrest doesn't slide - I think they fixed its design compared to the first one i test-drove. I was lucky enought to buy mine off the lot on June 18th. There's no "caliber click" (yet). My bicycle fits easily in back (seats down) and even fits STANDING UP with seatpost removed. Both kids, wife and beach toys fit easily. Both dogs (springer spaniel size) fit in back with seats up. The ride is deceptively quiet and smooth for the price. Only ~negative is gas mileage, which has been 28-29mpg on my 25mi mostly highway commute, but hopefully will improve without AC (and if I ever start driving slower again - I still can't resist challenging the CVT). The trade-off, though, is excellent value, price, and power for it's class -(no trouble with highway merges, lots of power and steady up to 90+mph!), and totally worth the small extra charge at the pump vs a typical compact. My only problems now are keeping my wife from taking it and keeping the kids from playing in it, but it sure is hard to blame them.
I'm with you, I just turned 2000 miles myself and I like driving it more every day. I wish the A/C was a little colder, but hopefully a window tint will help that. I'm happy with the power, despite what alot of posts say, I think it's a great ride. I also love the musicgate system - lots of power with no distortion.
I do about 50/50 hwy/city and I'm averaging 26 mpg.
Just another happy owner!
Glad you're enjoying yours too!

There is a possibility that there is a problem with programming for the AC and it should be colder than it is on some cars. Here is a link to a discussion on that:
With a good possibility and answer on page 3, Post 25
Hope that helps

Well....I'm freezing my **** off, and i'm loving it!!!
Turns out that the values in the computer were completely incorrect.
They sat down and compared the values from my Caliber with a new one straight from the factory...and mine were out of wack, big time.
Get this though....the factory one was incorrect as well, so say the Engineers from the company.
From all of this they figure that a good percentage of Calibers are coming out of the factory with the incorrect values, that explains all the complaints about the wonky AC.
Standby for a TSB and probably a recall because of this.
The head mech at the local dealer said he now has to redo all the Calibers on the lot and all the ones coming in from the factory.
If you are having problems still with your AC I suggest you get in soon and get it sorted out.
The days aren't getting any cooler.
Regards
