Finally, my Caliber went to D1 Status as of yesterday and is already in the gate. The owner of the dealership I go through knows the guy in Detroit thats in charge of the assembly plant and they couldn't figure out why my car hasn't been built yet. All of the other Caliber orders that were placed well after me were already built and are shipped out. So anyways, the guy called back and said he made sure it went into D1 status and that will be built ASAP! My salesman called me today and said my car went into D1 status yesterday and was already in the gate. He will call me tomorrow to give me the delivery date.

The thing that kinda irks me is that my dealer ordered some Jeep Compasses last month and he already has them on the lot! I order a Caliber in the first of May and its JUST getting built and yet you can order a Compass and get it right away? Way to go Chrysler! Glad to see you have your priorities straight!

 

So, you should have your car in two weeks, awesome! As I've mentioned in other posts, my dealer has til 11/1 to deliver or I'm gone. You know what irks me, is the fact that my dealership is constantly getting Calibers in, but with nothing in them, stripped down SXT's and R/T's. The calibers come and go, and I'm still waiting for mine. I tell you, it really sucks living only three blocks from my car dealership...[&o]

 

You know, nobody could figure out why my car wasn't built yet. I wonder if you get Sunburst Orange with package E (Sport Appearance Package), if it delays the order? Maybe there's a shortage of Orange seats or bezel covers or something like that?

Yeah my salesman said I should easily have my Caliber by the end of the month.

Funny thing is I called the Chrysler Customer Center on Tuesday and they said my car wouldn't be built until October! I'm glad they were wrong! I actually found a little bit better Caliber than what I ordered at another dealer and was just talking to them yesterday briefly. Now I won't have to fool with another dealer and drive over 2 hours away to go get it. Saves me a lot of driving.

 

Congrats I hope they're right. Funny thing ( funny strange not funny HAHA) the Chrysler ADS in the papers a month ago all had the Caliber's bold as you please in there ADS, now there are no Calibers in the ADS WHAT DOES IT MEAN!!!!!! NO CARS to sell? Just rambleing. Congrats again.

 

Interesting. When I talked to my dealer he emntioned that the only Calibers he is still waiting on are ones with the E package. Mine being a Sunburst Orange one. i wonder if DCX is having delays with the seat inserts or something.

 

Someone else on the other forum did mention that Calibers with the E package are taking longer. I'm starting to see a lot of SXT Sports in dealers around here again now so maybe they're picking back up on SXT Sport production again.

 

I'm not holding my breath about anything... It could still be sitting in D1 for all I know. I was just told it was in D1 as of yesterday and that it would be built and shipped before the end of the month. We'll see what happens.

 

I don't have the "E" package, I have the "D" package, so I don't think its that. I'm telling you guys, it has to be the the sunburst orange paint, they ran out of it! After they build my car, I hope they discontinue the color! [sm=lol.gif]

By the way, my Caliber was ordered 5/1, currently in "D" status.

 

Same here. Was told "D" status again today and they couldn't even give me an estimated build date. Sooooooooo frustrated. [:@]

Not to mention that DCX keeps telling me that my dealer will have more information. If they do, they aren't sharing. Trying to figure who I talk to next, already talked to my salesman, the sales manager and the general manager and get the same song and dance "we don't know anything and can't get any information." Anyone know the next step? Besides my attorney?

My car is built! They built it this morning and is currently going through quality control and will be shipped out today. Basically someone at the assembly plant screwed up and didn't put my Caliber on the schedule and it wasn't caught until the north east zone manager raised some hell. My order was immediately put into D1 status and also put ahead of any Caliber scheduled to be built today because of the screw up. It should ship from the rail company and be at the dealer somewhere around the 18-25th.
