i love my rt, but one thing sucks... i bought it then, took it home which was a 10 hour road trip, usually 8, but i only went around 100km/h (approx 60 mi/hr). how long do i need to "break it in" for, my folks figured until the first oil change around 5000 km, but that's going to be in sometime...the dealership gave me nothing for break in info, actually they gave me little info period, i won't return there but thats another story. i notice now after approx 1500 kms (approx 940 miles) on it that it still has really crappy acceleration. i don't want to bag it though, but i am eager to drive my baby.

My dealership told me the time until the first oil change (3k miles) is considered the break in period. I didn't really start running it until it had about 1500 miles on it. After that, the acceleration and gas mileage got much better. It's almost like night and day from when we first picked it up.

 

After about 500 miles I started running it hard, performance has been improving all the time now. Little over 2,000 miles. break it in like you plan on driving it. I haven't topped it out yet though, not till first oil change.
