Default Stalling!

I have just purchased the new caliber, and well problems are occuring. I was backing up today out of a parking stall, pushed in the clutch and shifted into 1st. Stall! Hmmmmm.... I restarted the engine and went. A few days later going about 20KM/H 1st gear pulling into a parking stall. Clutch in no brake yet. Soon as the clutch hit the floor, it stalled. Then i took it into the mechanics at my friendly dodge dealership. They couldnt recreate the problem, after I left It happened again at home pulling into my parking stall, what could this be?

This seems to be a common problem in the 1.8 liter five speed. On the caliberforums several people including myself have this problem. At this point there seems to be no solution. Complain to your dealer and DCX until it is rectified then paot the solution. It will probably be a flash update for the 1.8 only, but until they get enough complaints and look into a solution we have to wait and hope it doesn't cause an accident.

Flash upgrade for 1.8 liter to improve characteristics and idle undershoot. Flash to the latest characteristics for TIMP and PCM
Further improvements coming in Nov. I think I'll wait till Nov to have mine done. Just thought I'd let you Know they are working on it.

Thanks for all the info. My 1.8L, 5 spd stalls as well. It as if the RPM's just drop and don't recover. If it was a carbed engine I'd say it's like it's chocking out. The throttle response is delayed. Sometimes when you step on it hard the RPM's drop just before taking off. I understand that it's tough for a service person to detect an intermittent problem, and one that the codes don't recognize, but jeepers, don't treat me like a fool! What do these guys think, I'm just lonely and have nothing better to do but to come up with phantom problems because I need a friend??????? I'm hoping that this flash update will fix the problem. Why wait until Nov?

I"m only waiting because that"s about when the next oil change will be and I'll get it all done in one appointment.
