Major Water Leak - Need Some Opinions
I got a good one here, my girlfrends new R/T had a leak that flooded the whole left side of the vehicle front to back. Took it to the dealer and they could'nt find it. Got it back home and I found it in all of about 5 min. The leak was in the joint/seam where the firewall meets the lower body of vehicle, the seam runs up and across both sides. So the dealer filled this with silicone, this is a wide seam. We took it home and the next day after backing out of the driveway, the windshield cracked from the mid point up seven inchs. The driveway has a sharp hill to it so the vehicle will twist a little with the wheels turn so as to enter the roadway. My question to everyone is do you think that filling that seam in, packed full, could change the flexibility of the vehicle and crack the windshield? thanks, adam
I would say that the area you are talking about should have been spot welded solid so that it didn"t flex at all, and there should have been sealer applied before the welding to insure no leaks. take it back and make them fix it right.

Okay, well I had a similar thing happen to me last week... was driving out of town (about 200 miles) and when I turned onto another highway, all this water came from the underdash and soaked my feet! I was livid! Then all this smoke stuff (you could see it, but it didn't smell) was coming out of the vents. I did not have the heat nor the air conditioning on. Took it to a local dodge dealer down there and they said the air conditioning hose broke? I'm very skeptical. Since then, the smoke stuff is gone and no water is coming out.
But, just about 10 minutes ago, I was driving home from the store and my battery light came on. WHAT is going ON???
