Can I switch dealers on the Caliber order?
I am thinking that ordering from my small town Dodge dealer was a mistake; I was trying to give them business. However, the dealer is not a 5-Star dealer and turns out to be not very friendly or helpful. There is a much larger 5-Star Dodge dealer about 10 miles away that I had bought my other two Dodges and the Jeep from in the past. Can I transfer the existing order to another Dealer or would I have to start over and get in the "back of the line' of orders? The Caliber order was placed on June 12 and is still in "C" status although my dealer says that this car is his allocation....
Any help or advice would be great - I just don't want to screw up the order but I also don't want to be still waiting for the car months from now because my dealer is just working hard enough to get me the car or is too small of a dealer to make the order a priority with the production plant. The original dealer has control of where that car goes... And I can't think of any reason why a dealer would just hand business over to his competitor.... but it could be done.
Second, don't put too much faith in 5-Star... its a joke. Even 5-star dealers don't believe in it... its just a way for the factory to make money off of the dealer.
We were 5 star, but dropped it - it just isnt worth it.
All our customer satasfaction scores are well above the minimum - but because we would pave a large enough area to put ALL our new vehicles on we couldnt' be certified.

Sorry, you'll have to stand at the back of the line. No such thing as transfering an existing order to a different dealership. The five star delaership you're now thinking of purchasing from will have to put in a order to be shipped out to that particular dealership. My best advice to you is to wait it out. I ordered my Caliber 5/1, just picked it up a week ago. You already have almost four months in, no sense of stepping out of line now...
I felt the same way as you. I ordered from a smaller dealer (still 5 star though) on May 11. I finally got put into D in mid Sept. I'm stilling waiting for it to move into D1. From what I've read you Caliber isn't allocated until D status. I was in C for about 3 weeks.
