I've been having an issue on my R/T with the EVIC information resetting randomly.

This only happens on startup, and not every time - what happens is that the Avg. Fuel Economy and Elapsed Time will reset, also, if the Air Conditioning had been on, it will be turned off, and if the trip odometer was left being displayed it will be set to show the odometer (not the trip).

I have had the car in to the dealer twice for this (left it for two days the first time), and they have been unable to replicate, and it's not showing any codes.

Has anyone else seen this problem? It is getting very annoying, although it is intermittent it has happened up to 5 times in one day (I kept a log for a couple of weeks), and other times it will go 2 or 3 days without a problem.

Could be low battrey voltage if it only happens when you try to start the car.

 

to avoid the provblelm , don't start the car. daaa...

 

Or don't shut it off!
