Lunging When Slowing Down
New to the forum, new to the Caliber. I have the automatic (CVT) SXT version.
Basically when I'm slowing down, its almost as if the car down shifts and lunges forward on me. Anyone else experience something similar? I'm thinking it should be a little smoother when slowing down...

My SXT 2.0L/CVT does the same thing and has from the start,I believe that it's possible
that since the process used in these engines actually reduces fuel flow to minimum
when you let up on the gas that just before a stall condition is reached that the
computer returns fuel flow to idle setting at the same time the CVT slides into
lowest ratio regarding belt location.
It then seems to feel that you are stepping down a physical gear, but according to
CVT principals it should be smooth process.
