I've had my Cal for 6 months and have 13000 miles on it, I think my miles are not being accurately read. Could this be right?

Here is an old thread giving advice to use highway markers to validate your own Caliber's odometer & possibly recalculate your MPG. I used highway markers & discovered my odometer underreported my miles by 2%. Thereafter, when reporting my MPG, I added 2% to my MPG. On another website someone took me to task for using such an 'archaic' method to get better accuracy & saying my 'corrected' MPG was correct. I stood up for my 'correction' as most accurate, butthey continued to object to my'correction'.

I still feel myhighway marker correction is more accurate than just taking your odometer as gospel.
