Security System Options??
Hi All... (first post)..
After an unpleasant incident with my RT, I have decided to install a security system...
Has anybody had any experiences with installing security systems on this car??
I did some research and found EVS I Security System on the mopar site, but it seems very basic.. doesn't have shock sensors or a siren.. both of which I would like to have..
also, I'm wondering why i can't have both a remote starter and security system?? that is very annoying.. (esp for us up here in canada)..
i'm beginning to think i need to find a different aftermarket product.. don't really like the idea, but might have to, given the options..
can anybody shed some light on this??
thanks in advance..

Just an update..
It seems that I actually did get the security group when I ordered the car.. a fat lot of good it was cos it sure didn't stop people stealing my license plates..
i called the dealer and asked to have shock sensors and siren installed.. he's going to check whether that is available for the caliber and get back to me.. i'll post the dealer's response as future reference for anybody in similar situation..
anyways, any comments from somebody with a similar problem would be greatly appreciated..
peace on earth..

If you get shock sensors sensitive enough to detect light touch on license plates your
neighbours will hate your guts in a very short time, just pick up break off screws
from a fastener supply house put the plates on with them.

yeah i guess that would be the best solution for now..
the dealer says that the sensor and siren aren't available yet.. maybe it will be available before the summer and check back in a couple of months..

doppler radar would probably be a "ok" idea....
Funny how dodge won't let you have the security system and the remote start.
I bought a decent 2 way aftermarket remote starter and security for under $100. Took me about 2 days to install it. Make sure you install the resistors when doing the signaling for the door locks or your likely to have issues with them. I also have 2 open channels on the module to add things such as radar, pager, whatever I choose.
Talk with your dealer before you do it, some are a little less **** then others.
