This is for a canadian Grand Caravan SXT. It was impossible to find one with the optional equipment from factory.

I'm looking to install an overhead DVD entertainment system, but there is the HVAC controls that seems in the way. I called at different places and they say they need to see the minivan to propose a solution, but most likely to be installed AFT of the HVAC controls.

If somebody has a solution or pictures of their systems, I wouldlike to know.

I know that I can go for headrest screen or screen that attach with velcro, but this is not what I prefer.

I installed mine infront of the a/c controls. whe t he screen is open the rear passenger doea not have controll of the a/c but that doesnt mater ny 6 year old is not allowed to touch it anyways.

I added the OEM Rail System Video system and it rocks!!! This allowed me to maintain the A/C controls and now have added storage through the movable / removable compartments that match the video screen. Wiring was easy - I added the OEM 6 DVD player which connects easily to the radio and then connects viaa long wire under the dash, up the passenger side pillar, through the roof liner and connects to the video screen. Works and looks great. I suggest either the rail system setup (tricky as you have to make some cuts into the liner) or just the stock video screen which would be the same wiring install but easier to mount. In my other car, Ford Expedition, I put in an aftermarket with a huge screen and it's not integrated with the other components, the DVD player is under the seat and a pain to use, etc. Stock works best.

 

Audiovox has the aftermakets overheads that have a place to mount theA/C controls.
I used on of their unit with a 10.4" monitor. I have 6.4" unit floating in the garage some where....

I am very intersted in seeing pictures as well. I had an 04 Grand Caravan with an Audiovox overhead DVD player installed. I loved it and so did the kids. Unfortunately we have to part ways with that van and I'm now looking at an 07 SXT. I'd like to get another Audiovox but not sure where to put it with the rear air controls. It doesn't matter if the rear passengers have access to it. I just want to make sure it looks ok when it's all done.
