Default 95 Tranny

I have a 95 caravan with 3 speed automatic tranny. The seals where the frony cv shafts enter the tranny are leaking. Can i replace these without removing tranny? If so, how would i do this?
Thanks

Yes you can do it relatively easily. You will have to remove the drive axles--remove the axle nut at the wheel hub and you will probably have to loosen the lower ball joint attachment and swing the knuckle out of the way so you can disengage the splines from the hub. Ideally you need a "pickle fork" to pull the CV joints out of the transmission, but if you are carefull, you can gently pry between the transmission and inner cv joint to unsnap it from the trans. Remove the axle shaft, carefully pry out the seal and gently tap in the new seal. It all sounds complicated but each side is about a 1/2 hour job. Do not pull on the axle shaft because you can disengage the inner joint and you may have a mess.
