Default Radiator drain leaked

96 3.8L 188k Just changed the coolant. I kept twisting the drain plug to try to get it open more. When I tried to tighten it back up, it continued to drip. Left a bucket under it overnight and seems to have stopped. Anybody know how those things are supposed to work and what is involved with replacing the plug? btw I'm not dumping stopleak or anything else in there.

Go to the auto parts store and buy a new petcock. It's about $2.50 and comes with a new O ring. You unscrew the old one and pull. It will pop right out and the new one pops in and turns. Very common problem. Cheap fix. Don't waste your time with the old one.
