I want Daytime Running Lights
How do I engage the Daytime Running lights on my 2006 Town & Country? It's the base model. I would figure that it's some sore of relay that needs to be installed, but does anyone know for sure?
I have an '03 GC. The headlights automatically get turned off a few seconds after I shutoff and leave the vehicle. So, I just leave my headlight switch to the "ON" position permanently -- my cheap (free) solution for daytime running lights. I don't thinkthe GC's have a separate bulb dedicate to DRL, so my solution is just as good. In comparison, our Chevy Tahoe has dedicated DRL bulbs and light housing. The Tahoe uses a lower wattage bulb for DRL and automatically switches to full headlights on when it starts getting dark.
Most factory DRL systems power the lights at a lower voltage level than when they are in full on mode. They do that for bulb life and fuel economy. (not that you'd actually be able to measure the difference)
Just got my DRL working on my U.S. 2001 Dodge Dakota. Just went to the Dodge dealership and they changed the software in the ECU from U.S. to Canadian nothing else needed.Charged me with tax 61.00 CDN.
Where as my 1998 Dodge Dakota needed a DRL module which is under the hood on the drivers side that bolts on the fender, which I got at the junk yard for 5.00. There was an empty connector that led off the wires for the headlights/marker lights for the module to plug into.
