Hello
Hi folks, I hope I've just joined and hope I'm in the right place.
I'm from the UK and can't find a UK site like this, so I thought I'd give this one a try.
I've recently bought a 1998 3.3ltr Petrol(sorry Gas) automatic with 98k on the clockand I wanted to know if there are any problems that I should know about.
Thanks

RE: Hello
Welcome
It is good that someone is writing from across the pond. the most problems you may see is the input or output speed sensors on the transmission. If one goes out the transmission will go into fail safe mode or limp-in mode. And do write if you have problem, or if just want to write. Leonard

RE: Hello
Thanks folks, the only problems I've had so far is that the bracket the A/Csits onsnapped and the serpentine belt came off.
The only other thing is that due to a light being left on my battery went flat,I charged it back up but now whenever I start the car, the lights around the stereo flash for about 10 mins before going back to normal.
I know it's not that much of a problem but it's really annoying, can it be easily fixed?

RE: Hello
That means that the control head has lost its calibration settings. Try this with the engine running and let it do its thing for about a minute and report back. There are other things to try if this doesn't work.
CALIBRATION/DIAGNOSTICS TEST ENTRY
TO INITIATE TESTS:
â€*
Set Blower motor ON HIGH
â€*
Set Mode position to Panel
â€*
Open all A/C outlets
â€*
Set Temperature to Cold (Both slide pots if
equipped)
â€*
Depress WASH and REAR WIPER button simultaneously
for 5 Seconds (Until all LED’s light)Acceptable results is REAR WIPER LED is the
only LED flashing. Push Rear Wiper to exit.
