97 caravan stalling, Tips?
I still have the problem. I now have a service manual finaly. Currently I am monitoring the MAP sensore. I have rigged up a couple long leads to back prob terminals and run them into the cabin area. I then hook my meter to the leads for monitoring the sensore. No stall yet but I just hooked it up today.
Stalling is often related to the EGR valve, not closing properly, andallowing exhaust gas into the combustion chamber at idle. That is if you have an EGR valve. Some do, some don't.
Are you getting any codes showing up when you access the on-Board Diagnostic (OBD) using the ignition switch? If so, what are they or their numbers?
For ignition switch method and codes, take a look at this site: http://www.allpar.com/fix/80s-codes.html
Vacuum leak(s) is another common source of stalling / stumbling.

Could be a couple of separate problems happening at overlapping times.
EGR valve can be intermittent problem and happen any time the engine is at low rpms. Dirt in the gas tank can be intermittent as well ... hit a bump and the dirt stirs up and blocks the filter. Let the dirt settle back down and the vehicle runs fine ..... untilnext time. I ran a car once for several months with this problem happening every two hours or two weeks or whenever.
Anyway, for what it's worth, when the diagnosis is elusive, fuel delivery or spark deliveryproblemshave to beverified or ruled out by the process of elimination, so says a Mechanic in a local paper here. That appears to be what you are doing.
