Default 2000 G. Caravan Locks

Hello New Person Here.

I have an odd power lock problem on my 2000 Grand Caravan. At different times I cannot open the power locks with the keyless entry button. When this happens I can open the door with a key and all the locks work with the buttons inside. This is particulary troubling as the key holes on the driver and passenger side are too gummed up to get a key in after so long with the remote. I have been sending my kid through the tail gate!

The only othr thing I noticed is it happens more when it is cold (say 30 or less) and does not seem to fail when warmer.

Any Ideas Out There,
Mike

I thought I would add a point in case it was important as to why I did nto see a reply. I thought that some might instictively think that it is just the remote opener and I was not clear there.

What I meant to explain is the remote button will lock the doors at all times. When cold and damp (30 degrees or sell) the button will not open the locks. It also only happens say 3 out of 25 times. The part I think is important is when it does not open I can still hear the lock try to open. In other words the remote seems to activate the lock electronics but the lock button just can't come up to the open position?

I all cases theelectric lock button works from inside.

Thanks.

if its only doing it when its cold, it cold be a gummed up lock actuator. you could pull the panel off and clean the latch mechanism from the inside with carb cleaner.
