I own a 2000 Dodge Caravan Sport 3.3L. This winter it started to have difficulty shifting from reverse to drive, the rpms go but the van dosnt. Also when stopping then going again, theengine will rev the van will not move then something catches and it will go. Transmission maybe? Ive read alot of "war stories" about the caravan tranny. Any ideas or suggestions would be great!

 

yep, transmission is slipping
what does the fluid look like? full? color? metal flakes in it?

 

Does the trans slip in reverse too? I would have the tcm ck'ed for codes. You could be loosing pump pressure,burnt clutches,or the low/reverse actulator. The snap ring breaks sometimes causing to loose reverse and 1st gear.
