I would like to know how to tell if my van has rear auto load leveling on the shocks. The van has a realy hard ride in the winter time and I think the shocks need replaced.
What you need to do is call or local dealer and give them the last 9 of your vin number, they would be able to tell you what kind of shocks you have.

I found the dodge part # right on the shocks. Ouch they are realy proud of those things. I want to know if anyone can tell me justhow to diagnose shocks. This thing realy gives me a rough ride when the temp goes below 0 deg F.
Would new shocks andstruts fix this or would I be wasting money? (alot of money in this case $400+ per shock)

Why don't you wait until the weather warms up and see how it rides. It maybe normal when the weather is cold.
