Default Instrument panel "brake light warning" light.

The "brake light" is lit on my 92 Caravan's instrument panel.I've checked the fluid and it's OK.The brake warning came on while I was driving the van but the brake operation is normal.The E-Brake pedal is operating normally also.
The light comes on about five seconds after the key is turned to the "on" position without starting the engine.The same happens after the engine is running.
The self test code looks like 1255.
What could I check to get this one figured out.The van has ABS.

The van has ABS.The ABS light has been on and offfor awhile due to a bad sensor.(I think)
The ABS pumpruns when the van is started and when under hard braking.

Your van has the bendex 10 ABS system, which means to you, the van has a lifetime 685 recall for the ABS pump and master cylinder.

Well,well you're right!
I looked it up under the recalls section and found this info.

Dealers will test the vehicle's anti-lock brake system and repair the vehicles if necessary. also the warranty on all abs components will be extended to 10 years or 100,000 miles (except for the brake actuator piston assembly and the pump-motor assembly which will have a lifetime coverage). owners will also be reimbursed for previous abs component repair costs.

So,,,,,WOOOOO HOOOOOOO,and thanks!

An update;
It turns out the parts covered by the recall aren't the one that is causing the ABS light to be lit.The parts in question are the valves that control the ABS function so there's no replacement.
The brake light was lit by the failure of the ABS light bulb.Replacing the ABS bulb shut off the brake light.
