Cruise control
Hi All.
I have a real poser for you all.
I have an '88 Dodge Mini-Ram (Cargo version of grand caravan without windows) that did not have cruise control. I went to the local U-pull-it and bought a steering column, servo and computer from a same-year caravan and installed them in my van. I pressed the cruise control button on my first trip out at 45 mph and......Nothing.
Anerror code showed a servo problem so I replaced the servo. Still nothing. I verified the wiring and vacuum lines and all are correct. I couldn't find find a problem.
I finally found a detailed schematic and it mentions a "Speed-control module" that is supposed to be mounted under the dash on the passenger-side. I looked and found a connector. Ah HaH! I ran off to the U-pull-it and opened the dash on any caravans I could find and all had empty sockets like mine. One had a mating connector with a single wire disappearing into the kick panel. I was the first one to open these dash panels, so I don't think that was following a scavenger that had pulled all of the modules ahead of me.
I then completely dismantled a junkers' dash looking for the module. No Dice!
Can anyone tell me IF this module actually exists? And if so, where the H--L it is?
