Default HELP! 2002 G Caravan Turn Signals Staying on

Hi there
This has just recently started the signal lights are staying on and I manually have to click off. Sometimes I don't realize it is still on so this is unsafe.

Could it be the Combination Flasher unit has become unseated and or going bad?
If so Can you tell me its location. I have read so many different places but I am thinking it may be inside the fuse box under the dash?

Do I have to disconnect the battery before messing with it {due to accidental airbag deployment}

I would appreciate any input re: COmbination Flasher unit or perhaps the actual turn signal switch inside the steering column.

I am hoping to fix this myself as the deductable on my extended warranty would be more than the fix.
I am heading out on a month long road trip today so please reply if possible.

Thank You
Jan

there is a little plastic piece in your steering column that may be broke. this happened to me in a nissan. I had to replace it. Your switch has a catch on it, when the steering wheel is turned back it hits it and turns off your blinker. I would just unscrew the two or three bolts that drops the steering column cover to look at the switch. some models have an electrical actuator rather than a mechanical it can go out. either case you still have to replace the switch. its not the flasher.
